KARIN ZANER

Attorney

Voted one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas for 2018.

Karin Zaner’s passion for helping Texas doctors began in 1999, representing Dr. Lawrence Poliner in his noted federal court lawsuit against Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, resulting in a $366 million verdict, the ninth largest jury verdict in the country in 2004.

Since that time, Karin has become a highly sought-after advocate for physicians, as well as a frequent speaker to physician groups on the topics of peer review and credentialing, as well as other pressing health care issues affecting the medical profession. Her extensive yet handy Physician’s Guides provide basic information to doctors, outline certain practical realities of medicine, and offer insights on best practices. Karin also maintains a health care blog, covering a variety of medically relevant subjects and developing trends important to physicians today.

Karin is on the Advisory Council for the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin, is a Fellow and the current Membership Chair of the American College of Legal Medicine, a Member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, past President of the Texas Health Lawyers Association, and is heavily involved in a variety of alumni activities at UT Austin.

Karin Zaner is a faculty member of the TMLT speaker/author’s bureau, and proudly accepts TMLT insurance for TMB and peer review matters.
