Gregory McConnell, Esq.

Mr. McConnell is Vice President, Ambulatory and Real Estate Counsel for CHRISTUS Health, a large non-profit healthcare delivery system, where he supports ambulatory surgery center development and operations, along with Real Estate and facility management functions. Prior to joining CHRISTUS, Greg had many different roles over a 20-year career in the legal department of Tenet HealthCare Corporation, a large publicly traded comprehensive healthcare delivery company. For several years, Greg had responsibility for the legal operations of many of Tenet’s hospitals. He was later promoted to be the Assistant General Counsel to spearhead legal support for Tenet’s 2,000 employed physicians and oversaw a group handling the legal aspects of acquiring and operating physician practices. Subsequently, Greg transitioned again – this time to be the Assistant General Counsel for United Surgical Partners International (USPI), an affiliate of Tenet. At USPI, Greg oversaw a team supporting the legal operations of USPI’s surgical hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and imaging centers across 28 states. Before joining Tenet in 2000, he was in private practice in Dallas handling the defense of healthcare liability claims and other general healthcare matters. Mr. McConnell holds a J.D. degree from Baylor University School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1995 and is an active member of the Dallas Bar Association and former Chair of its Health Law Section.
