Evie Lalangas brings an insider’s perspective to healthcare and business services matters. Having worked for health-related nonprofits and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, she not only understands the legal issues surrounding the healthcare industry, but also the policy and business concerns. Her unique vantage point gives her an intimate understanding of her clients’ perspectives and enables her to help them achieve their goals in the healthcare field and beyond. She is Board Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Evie’s clients include hospitals, surgery centers, behavioral health providers, provider staffing companies, home health and hospice agencies, pharmacies, medical device companies, laboratories and other ancillary service providers. Clients rely on her to handle the broad range of issues that arise while operating a healthcare business, which inevitably include regulatory considerations to ensure compliance with complex state and federal fraud and abuse laws, billing and reimbursement compliance, privacy considerations, and shepherding and negotiating transactions to make necessary business modifications, including mergers and acquisitions. More specifically, Evie counsels on fraud and abuse laws including the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law, HIPAA, the Sunshine Act and other state and federal laws.
Evie earned her B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University and her J.D. and M.P.H. in Health Policy from St. Louis University.
